The appealing grandeur of lofty ceilings and decorative light displays marks the first draw of Continental Midtown. With the option of standard seating or eclectic hanging cage chairs, even following your hostess to your table is a stylish journey.
Lounge by Continental Midtown’s luxe fireplace and cool down with a Grace Kelly cocktail, deliciously made with Pimm's No. 1, beefeater gin, lime, ginger ale, and cucumber. Continental Midtown, conveniently located in trendy Rittenhouse Square, opened in July 2004 by Stephen Starr. It’s Starr’s second Continental in Philadelphia, the first located in Old City at 2nd & Market.
While it should be no surprise Continental Midtown’s ambiance is first date ready, it’s sleek casual design is also perfect for kicking back with friends. As with many Starr restaurants, most dishes are family style - perfectly portioned for sharing. The diverse menu incorporates many cultures spanning from Korean and Thai to Mediterranean, Italian, and traditional American cuisines. That means when half of your party wants French Onion Dumplings and the other half wants Cheesesteak Eggs Rolls, Continental Midtown has the exact blend of variety to match!
In Between Rivers recommends starting your meal with the Shoestring Fries drenched in spicy szechuan mustard and the Calamari Salad. As your entrees, indulge in the Jumbo Lump Crab Pad Thai and the Seared Tuna which is sesame crusted over a mushroom risotto. Complete your meal with the Continental Candy Bar - an incredible chocolate crust, white chocolate mousse, caramel and peanuts.
Just coming for drinks? Why not enjoy a few retro-themed cocktails on the rooftop bar! IBR recommends the famous Aviation cocktail, composed of Tanqueray, luxardo maraschino liqueur, crème de violette and fresh lemon. At Continental Midtown, the only thing more satisfying than Happy Hour itself is the well-priced drink selection sure to knock your socks off!
